The Pledge

"Every great magic trick consists of three parts or acts. The first part is called "The Pledge". The magician shows you something ordinary: a deck of cards, a bird or a man. He shows you this object. Perhaps he asks you to inspect it to see if it is indeed real, unaltered, normal. But of course... it probably isn't. The second act is called "The Turn". The magician takes the ordinary something and makes it do something extraordinary. Now you're looking for the secret... but you won't find it, because of course you're not really looking. You don't really want to know. You want to be fooled. But you wouldn't clap yet. Because making something disappear isn't enough; you have to bring it back. That's why every magic trick has a third act, the hardest part, the part we call "The Prestige"."

Rose Distill'd

Time to give My Dark Lady her Anima. I have spent the night crafting the charm into the centerpoint of her steering wheel.

I have found a perfect donor.

She is young and naive, she is rich, she is bored, her mother is dead, her father neglects her. She is looking for love in all the wrong places.

And she is a virgin.

"But earthlier happy is the rose distill'd
Than that which withering on the virgin thorn
Grows, lives, and dies in single blessedness."

She will be mine.

All it's going to take is one belated Valentine.

She tells me, the Fog is foregathering in her tiny township of Kingsmouth. Perfect cover.

Will travel.

Red

My First Love was red. Like Klara's dress. Like her lipstick and her hard polished nails. 1936 Horch 853 Cabriolet convertible. In 1936. My Immortal Beloved.

Regrets

I should have gotten Sang D'Argent. *sigh* No reason I can't have both, right? One for business, one for pleasure. Hard to decide which one is which. Two souls, alas, are trapped within my breast... Careful, Faust, she is a succubus.

My Lovely New Car

Yes, yes, I confess. I am a car addict. How indiscrete! I, Spader, the image next to the word "discretion" in every rule book, yes, I, can't resist the risk of a flashy car on a most-stolen list.

Well.

It could be worse.

It could be red.

If you must know, Her Majesty's name is Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir.

My Dark Lady.

No, I did not get her for "Noir" in her name. I got her for the looks.
